Here’s What the Dwell Staff Would Really Buy on Amazon Prime Day
Amazon is occasionally a necessary evil, useful in a pinch for when you cannot find the thing that you want and need, and are left with little to no choice. When Prime Day rolls around, though, Amazon’s siren call becomes a little harder to ignore.
Below, a robust selection of the random things that the Dwell staff has bought from Amazon and genuinely enjoyed—or stuff that they want and are hopeful is on sale for Prime Day.
Pet Hair Remover
"A must -have for anyone with pets or shedding roommates." —Stella Gewirz, Email Marketing Specialist
Another solid option
"I share an Amazon account with one of my sisters so the assemblage of things in our ‘save for later’ section is a real motley assortment of bathing suits, books I want to read, supplements, cat food, and other sundry items that are frankly too embarrassing to share. However, I am in need of a pepper mill and the cat clearly ‘needs’ this bed... It’d be great if either were on sale for Prime Day, but if they're not, I’ll find some other options!" —Megan Reynolds, Senior Home Guides Editor
Dyson V8 Cordless Vaccuum
"I finally bit the bullet and admitted the awful broom I picked up from a local hardware store wasn’t quite cutting it cleaning-wise, and went in on an on-sale Dyson, which of course has been totally worth it. I have it on good authority from a friend who has cleaned for a living that the Dyson is the way to go if you must go stick vacuum, and though I couldn’t find a natural place to mount it in our apartment (natural meaning, hidden), my partner smartly realized we could lie it down under the bed, which is working nicely."—Kate Dries, Executive Editor
ARLO Bamboo Roman Shades
"I have these everywhere in my apartment, paired with curtains and on their own. I love how they offer privacy, but also let light filter through."—Erin Mahoney, Senior Marketing Manager
Some other blinds—on sale!
"Just a simple white metal shelf. I have a few, and they get the job done and look nice."—Jack Balderrama Morley, Managing Editor
Another option:
"High quality, versatile, and overall, my daughter loves it."—Maris Newbury, Affiliate Account Manager
A solid alternative
"I’m always watching for a set of these insanely expensive, would-be-totally-worth-it wine glasses to go on sale."—Samanatha Weiss-Hills, Managing Editor, Commerce
